Bruce M. Lowrie, MD, is double-boarded in geriatric and internal medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society.
Dr. Lowrie provides primary care services for patients age 50 and older, including physicals, general wellness services, pre-operative screenings, and disease management for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. Dementia, frailty and functional decline are common geriatric issues with which Dr. Lowrie is familiar.
A graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Dr. Lowrie completed his residency and fellowship at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. He served as assistant clinical professor at Case Western Reserve University for 18 years, from 1993 – 2011. He also had a private practice in Ohio from 1993 – 2011. He and his wife, a pediatrician, moved to St. Louis in 2011.
Dr. Lowrie sees patients across the spectrum of clinical care environments: in his office, in the hospital, in assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
He is on the medical staff at Des Peres Hospital. He is taking new patients and accepts most insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid. Evening and same day appointments are available.
